About The Mac Specialist
The Mac Specialist is an independent UK website that answers one question: will this accessory work with my device? USB-C looks the same whether it carries USB 2 or Thunderbolt 5. A charger can fit the socket and still be too weak for a MacBook. A “MagSafe” stand might really be a Qi2 stand. Bands and cases come in sizes that don’t match the names. We put those facts side by side so you can buy once.
How it works
- Devices: we record each Apple device’s connector, data standard, wireless charging and display support from Apple’s own tech specs, with the source and the date we checked.
- Accessories: we list chargers, cables, hubs, cases and more from Apple and well-known makers, with key specs from each maker’s own page.
- Rules: a published rule for each kind of accessory works out the badge — Works, Works with adapter or Not compatible. See the rules.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell anything or take payments. Buttons go to Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon handles the sale, delivery and returns.
- We don’t publish star ratings, reviews or “test results”. We haven’t lab-tested the products, so we don’t pretend to.
- We don’t show prices. They change too often, and Amazon shows the current price.
How we’re funded
Some links are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. It doesn’t change the price you pay or the badges we show — see our affiliate disclosure.
